Melting Products

Ferrous & Non-Ferrous

Heating with induction for melting is a big part of our business. We offer complete melting systems utilizing the Auto-Match™ power supply and fully shunted Steel Box and Steel Shell furnace designs. We also offer a full Auto-Melt™ product line of industrial PLC melt monitors and full unitized melt platforms. The Auto-Melt™ PLC products employ Allen-Bradley SLC series controllers with panel-view / touch screen combination operator interface panels. Please see Auto-Match™ utilization and power factor advantages listed on the power supplies page of this web site.

Steel Box Furnaces

In the late 1970's the use of Asbestos was prohibited for manufacturers. As a result, the most commonly utilized box furnace design of induction melting was forced to undergo structural material changes. Unfortunately, a direct asbestos replacement material, in mechanical strength and temperature rating, was never found. With this realization, our steel box furnace evolved from widely utilized Steel Shell design. This design utilizes magnetic shunt packs to shield the inductive flux from going past the coil horizontally, upper and lower "Faraday Rings" above and below the active coil shield flux vertically. This magnetic shielding, or flux concentrating has allowed us to manufacturer a complete welded steel furnace frame. This steel frame produces a superior mechanical design to that offered by competitivedesigns.

Auto-Melt™ Decks

Auto-Melt™ decks are complete unitized melting platforms which are designed to simplify installations. We offer (2) standard packages an AF-MD-1 for furnace sizes from 300-2000 pound steel capacity and a AF-MD-2 for furnace sizes from 3000-6000 pound steel capacity. These platforms include the following features:

A. Rugged Steel Tube Frame Construction
B. Removable Steel Threaded Plate Decking
C. Power Lead Guide
D. Interconnection Water Hosing, Piping & Hydraulic Power Supply Connections
E. Local or Remote Pedestal Style Hydraulic Furnace and/or Lid Operator Controls
F. Low Profile Hydraulic Power Supply with Pump, Motor, Motor Starters, Reservoir & Filter

Auto-Melt™ PLC's

Auto-Melt™ PLC utilizes an Allen-Bradley SLC series 500 controller and a panel-view / touch screen combination operator interface panel, his system was designed to offer traditional consistency to several key melting parameters and/or procedures:

The Auto-Melt™ Package includes:

A. On-Line Parameter Display
B. Fault Condition Display with 100 Occurrence Storage
C. Sinter Cycle Control
D. Cold Start Control
E. Hold Cycle Control

Lift Swing

This furnace design offers a complete unitized package ready to melt. Free standing crucible pedestals sit over dual sand boxes which capture any metal slippage. The built in sand traps offer significant safety advantages to that of competitive designs. Hydraulic or pneumatic assist or manual lift units are available. This unit combines high utilization with ease of operations and installation all in one package.
